Hi there! This blog is about my new sidekick (and son), Miles. He is a constant source of entertainment while I stay at home watching him day in and day out. Here you can stay informed with all the Miles updates and misadventures. I hope you will enjoy following my blog as much as I will enjoy updating it with all the hundreds of pictures and videos i have eating up all my phone's memory.

Thanksgiving after-glow
Baby's first thanksgiving was a big hit at the Simpson's house even though Miles passed out before the turkey hit the plate. Stayed up as long as we all could around the roaring beehive fireplace telling stories and expressing how thankful we were for the wonderful people in our lives. We are truly lucky for our family and friends. One of the best turkey days to date!

Turkey-doodle-doooooo!
Rise and shine! Pappa Bill brought presents...noisy presents that light up and play music, we just love it! Mamma's in the kitchen mixing up her special peach cobbler for tonight and daddy's brewing up enough coffee to make sure we are ready to go the distance on this happy thanksgiving! Now get cleaned up everybody and let's go meet aunt Heather!

Me lucky charms are all soggy!
It's been raining for over 24hrs in our desert so things are getting chilly and we need cozy outfits and warm milk (coffee and cream for me) to keep our spirits up. Momma is off this afternoon to play a 3 hour wedding ceremony so hopefully the weather clears up for her and meanwhile we can bundle up and go for a walk around the dampened neighborhood.

Little bird, little bird
Picture time again? Ok...
Come over here you feets!
He woke up feelin photogenic so we sang some songs ( I sang some songs, he sat and encouraged me ) and we snapped a few before the milk feast. Birds woke him up, like from Alfred Hitchcock birds, hundreds squawking and screeching outside his window- really weird - I tried to chase them off but they took to higher ground in the trees and phone lines increasing their volume and intensity in a frantic rally, I knew I was out numbered so I creeped back inside only to find a wide-awake and confused Miles. I wanted to walk over to his mamma's play rehearsal but I'm not sure how many little finches I can fight off with a baby strapped to my chest. Looks like we are stuck here with each other for now.
Hello Feets!
Miles found new things to play with named lefty and righty foot.
also new stats:
15.5 lbs -now heavier than my doggies!
26 in -almost 4inch growth and 3lbs in one month!

Steeeeeeeeeeerike!
off to make lunch for momma in the papoose
We've been doubling up on cloth diapers these days which keeps him 'better contained' but the trade-off is that Miles turns into a bowling pin. He was in a great mood today and got a big work-out during tummy-time, he will be mobile all too soon. Momma is always in a rush to come home and hear all the day's breaking Miles news.

Aunt Sarah made a little rag dog
A fun little toy to squeeze and grab. Thanks for sending me this home-made friend - i will give him a good name when i learn to talk!
M&M's
Hard to put in to words without tredding into corny waters the feeling one gets when holding on to a new being who is so helpless and dependent on the love you offer. Holding my son to my chest warms my heart, my soul and all the fellings that have lain dormant my whole life just to emerge as a strong motivation to protect this person who will be my student and life-long friend.

Weekend breakfast!!!
My little helper points out the next ingredient to make the perfect breakfast while the coffee gurgles and the momma sleeps in. He likes to talk and swing his arms and kick his legs to keep me entertained as I crack eggs and melt butter. Someday soon it will take more than milk to fill his hungry belly and that's when I will introduce him to the wonderful world of pancakes with syrup and hash browns covered in hot liquid cheddar. Can you tell I'm writing with my stomach?

Some Miles pics momma took
It's getting chilly in the mornings so we had to bust out the long pj's. It's a little early for the Christmas look, however, I fear that by the time red and green are in style he will have grown out of this outfit so we might as well make use of it while we can!
Momma loves her Miles
She's all gussied up for her concert tonight. Such a busy momma but she always finds time to nuzzle her baby and kiss his big soft cheeks.

Miles: Milk Tasting Sommelier
Ah! How exquisite! La leche from my favorite vinyard, chilled and aged for 2hours. a creamy bouquet with notes of chestnut and sweet hints of lilac, finishes silky smooth and has a berry afterglow, pairs elegantly with my left thumb and is perfect for those times i just want something in my belly before a long nap.

Happy Birthday Big Uncle Petey!
Miles is so excited to finally meet some cool family members this Thanksgiving, especially his fast-car drivin' Uncle sPeetey. When Miles found out that it was his Uncle's birthday today he intuitively requested my assistance in singing the birthday song for him. I hope 28 is a good year for you buddy, eat lots of cake and don't get caught doing doughnuts in anybody's front yard :D

Ginger Power Play
Well, he has the right amount of teeth to be a pro-hockey player, just got to put him on some skates! These pics are a couple weeks old, but since i couldnt get the shot i had planned out today they will have to suffice. He has been up a lot today and eating almost faster than mamma can keep up with. I feel bad that my nipples continue their life-long useless existence and cannot muster even a drop to alleviate my poor wife's burden. I think we'll all be happier when solid foods are introduced. Perhaps we can get a family deal on some temporary teeth and get this party started before Thanksgiving :D
