We are so lucky for the year we just had- so many wonderful changes and so much good fortune. We are surrounded by love and that is all we ever need. Happy New Year to all our family, friends and other fellow human-like persons :)
Hi there! This blog is about my new sidekick (and son), Miles. He is a constant source of entertainment while I stay at home watching him day in and day out. Here you can stay informed with all the Miles updates and misadventures. I hope you will enjoy following my blog as much as I will enjoy updating it with all the hundreds of pictures and videos i have eating up all my phone's memory.

Strolling home
Just woke up after a night-time stroller ride with the doggies. The sweet smells and sparkly lights and the cool air make this the best time of year in the desert.

Music ex utero
Daddy's rocking the baby and a Mitt Romney hair-doo!
Stopped by the Turf Irish Pub to watch momma get back up on stage and play with her old band. Miles seems to recognize a few tunes.
This bed is just right
So I guess the king-sized temperpedic is more to his likings than the crib. It's best to take advantage of any sleep he gets but he better not make this a regular habit - the bed is overflowing with people and dogs as it is

Christmas Night
So many fun presents! Miles got a cool playtime walker - Momma got some cozy pajamas (that she changed into instantly) daddy got a brand new shiny Webber gas grill and (honestly and literally) nearly burst into tears at the glory of this sleek beautiful fire cooking dream. The fine diner of peas turkey and sweat potatoes was followed by a competitive game that momma had to leave to feed her baby more milk. Daddy-Mo laughed harder than he had all year hearing Polo's tale of his adventures with uncles Wayne and Jim at a Nude beach in Canada. Long story ... Christmas was just magic for everyone

Give Peas a Chance
Now that our big boy is 4 months, milk just ain't gonna cut it! We picked up a variety of all-organic baby foods and started with everybody's favorite, PEAS! It took him a little getting used to this first time feeding him, but by round 2 the next day he was loving his new solid foods and devoured them happily. The farts ... however.... i got to say have exponentially increased in stinky potency - like a roasted pea factory in here.
Baby's first Pancha Ganapati
Momma always remembers to set up the shrine to honor Lord Ganesha, Patron of Arts and Guardian of Culture, on the first of the five day celebration. Today we wear yellow and send love and harmony to our immediate family. This morning the three of us (and doges) gathered in the living room and went over the year past and told each other what we were grateful for and what we hoped to improve upon. Momma has a wedding to play this afternoon then we are going over to the grandparents' house to welcome back Uncle sPeedy and have a tasty chicken dinner. We are so happy to have the Momma off school for 2 weeks, it will be a welcome treat to enjoy each other for the holidays.

Pops and Mo
An older picture from 2 months ago. Miles having a snack with his Great-Grandpa, Pops! They became friends right away, singing and playing. If Miles had an iPod Pops would have to put out an album with classic hits like "this is the way the gentlemen ride" and "the grand ole Duke of York". Hard to tell who was the bigger fan of whom.

Healthy baby
Doctor check up today- still a healthy perfect boy. 28 inches long 15lb 7oz- average weight and above average length. He had his second round of vaccinations too - the shots to his legs have made him sore and grumpy this evening. Good news- big stinky poopy-poo-poo today. i got a lot of helpful info on pooping today from each an every mother at the waiting room today which is way more entertaining than looking up my questions on google.

Puff baby
That blue puff was a baby shower decoration whose stock in entertainment value just shot through the celing

Smooth moves
Little milky Mojo is regularly flipping around from his back to his belly all by himself these days- that is when there's no flashy noisy toys around to distract him. Also arching his head way up so I think it can't be long now before he scoots around!
For the last few days we were a little worried about possible constipation as he went 48 hours with no poopies - so I checked online and they recommended a small amount of water introduced in between feeding which we started yesterday. I was getting worried and hoped that this simple solution would solve the problem. Well, at 5:30 this morning I got my answer in the stinkiest, gooiest form you could imagine. Let's just say I don't think I will ever look at guacamole dip the same way again. What a relief though. He is sleeping better since then and very happy all morning today.
We can't wait for his momma's school play to be over tonight so we can all enjoy our family time again. His grandparents have been a huge help watching him while Eily finishes up production this week and I lend a hand backstage and even making a short cameo on stage as a disapproving police officer - no lines but, hey, we all got to start somewhere.

Kick that water!
nice bath to relax and clean out all those pudgy rolls. If it were up to him, he'd stay in that tub all day! but I have to get him out to dry off and into a toasty warm outfit fresh from the dryer.

Crashed
Always wondered what babies dream about. I imagine, most dreams, they are paddling around in an inner tube down a warm frothy milk river. To one side of the stream is a bunch of flashy lights and digitized classical tunes that put any Las Vegas night or psychedelic journey to shame and on the other bank is a mishmash of faces seen throughout the day melting into each other and speaking a goo goo language that they don't quite understand yet. It explains the confused looks they have when they wake up and how happy they are to see your face again, solid and recognizable. What they wake to, they will later be taught, is a separate thing dubbed "reality".
